Sex Scandal Rocks Team Schumer, Junior Staffers Claim “Inappropriate Sexual Contact”

The top man in the Democrat party in the Senate, Chuck Schumer of New York has reportedly fired his communications director following the news of sexual allegations leveled against him.

The claim is that the longtime aide was guilty of “inappropriate sexual contact” with junior staffers.

Breitbart News reports:

Schumer aide Matt House was pushed out of his high-powered position without explanation last November. Now, a spokesperson for the senator has admitted he was released for cause, according to the New York Post.

“Upon learning that he had inappropriate encounters within the office and that it was making some staff uncomfortable, he was asked to leave,” a statement released by the Democratic Senate Minority Leader’s office read.

A statement was also released by House, himself, in which he claimed that he “regrets” his actions.

“I absolutely loved my time working in the Senate, and it was the honor of my life,” House said in the statement. “I deeply regret the mistakes I made on the number of occasions when I had too much to drink, and I apologize to anyone who was affected by my behavior.”

The statement went on, “I have always respected all of my colleagues, and I was horrified to learn that I made anyone feel uncomfortable. In the past three months, I’ve stopped drinking, and I’ve committed to making myself a better colleague and person.”

Before any official complaints were made or any legal action was taken, House was terminated from his position.

The disgraced aide had worked for Chuck Schumer for six years when he suddenly left his position in November of 2018. Before joining Senator Schumer’s staff, House worked as a staffer for former Senator Joe Biden’s failed presidential campaign in 2008. House also worked on New Hampshire Democrat Paul Hodes’ failed Senate bid.

Fox News reports:

According to his LinkedIn page, House previously served from 2011 to 2012 as Schumer’s press secretary. Prior to joining Schumer’s office, House worked for then-Sen. Joe Biden’s 2008 presidential campaign.

The Schumer aide’s departure was another sign of turmoil among the staffs of top Democrats.

In December a senior adviser to U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., resigned over inquiriesabout a $400,000 harassment lawsuit against him while working at the California Department of Justice.

In August, reports surfaced that a longtime driver for U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., was suspected of spying on behalf of the Chinese.
